Album Overview
In Invariance, the composition process revolves around crafting music where the notes or sequences mirror themselves. Starting with time-based palindrome batches of 5-second sequences, the music evolves through smaller batch sizes, ultimately creating note-based compositions. Each track in the album brings this concept to life, blurring the line between traditional music structure and experimental soundscapes.
Key Composition Methods
Time-Based Batch Palindrome Music
The first technique used in Invariance involved structuring music in reverse and forward sequences within a 5-second time batch. As the album progresses, the batch size is reduced to 3 seconds, and then to 2 seconds, creating more complex layers of palindrome effects. This approach results in a mesmerizing auditory symmetry that evolves as the album progresses.
Note-Based Palindrome Composition
In the second phase, the music is composed based on individual notes rather than time batches. Each note reflects its counterpart in reverse, creating intricate melodic patterns that challenge traditional musical norms. These tracks bring a rhythmic complexity, balancing symmetry with creative variations.
Hybrid Approach
Four tracks in the album feature a hybrid composition method, combining both note-based and time-based palindrome techniques. This results in a unique and immersive listening experience where time and melody interact seamlessly.
